FAQ’s Cont

  • Will it be safe?
Your safety is of the utmost importance to us.  The event has been organised in conjunction with Thames Valley Police. The route will be heavily marshalled by volunteers and first aiders will be available along the route for the duration of the walk.   We encourage you to walk with a friend(s), bring a torch and it is important that you register at the start/finish (Midsummer Place) and midway point  Bury Lawn School)
  • Is the route suitable for children?
MK Midnight Moo is not suitable for children under the age of 16.  Any walker between 16 and 18 must have written consent and be accompanied by a responsible adult who is a registered participant of the MK Midnight Moo.
  • Is the route suitable for wheelchairs
The route is not really suitable for wheelchairs, however please contact our Moo Hotline on 01908 306698 to discuss further and we will try and accommodate your needs as best we can.
  • Why can only women take part?
MK Midnight Moo invites women of all ages (16+) and fitness levels to join together to help raise funds for their local hospice.  Most women will know a family member or friend who has been affected by cancer or other life limiting illnesses.  There is something very special when a group of women join together for a common cause and this is the only event in the Hospice calendar which excludes men from participation.  However we do need men to help us! We need lots of marshals and registration volunteers on the night so please get them to contact us about joining us as a Herd Helper.
  • Will there be parking on the night?
Midsummer Place Shopping Centre has a multi storey car park, which walkers can use for free of charge on the night.  There is also ample parking around the shopping centre.  Please contact the Moo Hotline if you would like further information on 01908 306698.
  • Are there any lockers at the venue?
Unfortunately there are no facilities to leave your possessions so please make sure you bring only essential items with you as you will need to walk with them.
  • Are there toilets?
There will be toilets at the start, finish and re-registration point, along with others at various points along the route.
  • Will there be any refreshments?
We suggest you bring water with you; but there will be water available at the mid-way point of the route and a light breakfast at the end of the route.
  • Can I bring my dog?
No pets or animals are permitted on the MK Midnight Moo or on the route except guide dogs.
  • Do I need special footwear or clothing?
We recommend that you wear comfortable clothing and well fitting, sturdy footwear (preferably trainers or walking boots). We would like you to wear your MK Midnight Moo t-shirt as your top layer. We may warm up outside so you may want to put a thick or thermal layer under your t-shirt. The walk will be outdoors so you may need to be prepared for wet weather!
Fancy Dress – If you want to add to the fun by coming in fancy dress then anything goes, but we do encourage you to incorporate your MK Midnight Moo t-shirt into your outfit.  It would be great to see as many ladies as possible in some kind of cow themed fancy dress!  There will be a prize for the best fancy dress individual so get yourself mooving and think cow fancy dress!
